Recreational Play

Dividing play by skill level allows all players to have fun and challenging games, as well as work on the skills needed to move up to the next level.

In recreational play, play is usually divided into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels, with the intermediate level often divided further into Intermediate and High Intermediate.

Determining your self rating will be useful for recreational (“Open”) play at the FPA.

Tournament Play

While signing up for tournaments and deciding who to play with, you will need to know your pickleball rating. Below are some helpful resources for self-rating.
